What is ARLA

The Association of Residential Letting Agents is the UK’s foremost professional body for letting agents. Members are professionals working at all levels of letting agency, from business owners to office employees.

ARLA was formed in 1981 as the professional and regulatory body for letting agents in the UK. It was recognised that the requirements of the residential lettings market were so detailed and specific that a separate organisation was required to promote standards in this important and growing sector of the property market. As a leading player in the property industry, ARLA offers significant benefits to letting agents and consumers alike.

Code of Practice

All ARLA members agree to comply with the professional standards outlined within the ARLA Byelaws and Code of Practice, demonstrating their dedication and commitment to high standards in Letting Agency. You can find the ARLA Byelaws and more details on how members are regulated by visiting the NFoPP Regulation website below. If you have a complaint against one of our members, NFoPP Regulation can investigate this matter for you. They have the power to take action against any member they feel have breached the ARLA Byelaws & Code of Practice.
